PANEUM AT THE KRUSTE & KRUME BREAD FESTIVAL
The Wunderkammer of Bread makes an appearance at the third Kruste & Krume Bread Festival in the Vienna Kursalon Hübner on 10 March 2018.
The news that a bread festival was being organised in Vienna rapidly spread in all directions. At this year’s “Kruste & Krume” (Crust & Crumbs), it is not only bakers from Austria, but also Slow Food bakers from Piedmont and Slovakia who are present. Nearly 30 bakers from all over Austria were selected by Kruste & Krume initatior Barbara van Melle and Master Baker Simon Wöckl for this year’s bread festival. As part of a large bread market, they will offer bread specialities and fine baked goods at their stands. In order to better understand the history of bread, the PANEUM – Wunderkammer des Brotes will also be represented and will present selected exhibits.
The unbelievable popularity of the Kruste & Krume Festival in the past two years prompted the event organiser, Barbara van Melle, to charge an entry fee this year. Tickets are now available at a price of EUR 10 each and have been limited in order to give guests more space and freedom of movement. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the box office on 10 March for EUR 15 (students and pensioners EUR 10). Children up to 12 years are admitted free of charge. When leaving the festival, in exchange for their ticket, each visitor will receive a kilogram of bakery flour to take home. Bread lovers should secure their tickets as quickly as possible.
